There is very little recorded information on this lone chimney. It is perhaps unusual in that there is very little evidence of mine workings in the area and the surrounding area is predominantly sand. Sand dunes and what was a "Sand Quarry" now a lake for migrating birds.
I have found reference to mine workings along the North Cliff area which is not too far away. I wonder whether the chimney was part of the ore processing perhaps for and in the processing of Arsenic. Arsenic process were usualy remote from the main mining areas.
