Former Pool Board school, has been empty for many years

This former school, although no information has been found on its history. I would suggest that it was built by the then local land and mining owner at that time were the Bassett family, whom I know built the adjacent girls school and school house (now converted into residential premises).
I have not been able to establish, as in the name, whether:-
The premises was a "Boarding School"or
The "Pool Board" refers to a "Board of Governors from Pool set up the school.
