Chapel Porth Managed by the National trust, this is a small cove with initially a cobble beach which opens up into a large sandy beach when tide conditions are right.
The Cove equally has an adit or exit tunnel from the nearby Wheal Coates higher up the hill.
I wonder, whether the opening in the hillside was intentional as an adit or did mining activities within the hill just emerge from it creating the new lower opening..
