The Arlington Committee on Tourism and Economic Development (A-TED) was created by the Board of Selectmen in 2010. It manages the Visitor Information Center, located at Uncle Sam Plaza in Arlington Center, Massachusetts.

This quaint booth is a small shed structure with light gray clapboards, white trim, a pair of windows, and doors on the south and west sides. It sits on a low wooden deck that has a ramp along one edge for accessibility. A set of chairs and a small table make the platform even more inviting.

The open wall interior holds a few racks of informational pamphlets about historic sites, local resources, and summer recreation programs. There is a bar-height service desk and a small rolling shelf unit filled with books. A few maps, photographs and posters decorate the walls. The friendly docent handed out free pinback buttons that say: "Arlington - Birthplace of the Real Uncle Sam". (See Gallery)

The center is open seasonally, from Spring to Fall, contingent upon volunteer availability and weather conditions. For more information email: arlingtonted@gmail.com or call the message line: (781) 316-3366 ext. 2227.
