This lone chimney is situated on the North Cornwall Coast high above the cliffs, it is also probable the most picturesque.

The Towanroath Shaft engine pumping house.
With the mine shaft sinking some 185 metres and with workings extending out under the sea bed, this building was utilised for pumping out water from the depths of the mine shaft.
