The current Information Centre (in the Heritage Museum) was only opened in May 2007, by the Australia famous Fiona Coote A.M., who was raised in Manilla, became 'Australia's darling', when she had to undergo a heart transplant in 1984, aged 14, becoming the youngest Australian recipient ever. Since then she has remained very much in the public eye, and worked tirelessly fund raising, including for the Victor Chang Foundation (Dr Chang performed the life-saving surgery). [Some info ex-Wikipedia: (visit link) ]

Manilla is well known for its rural pursuits and attractions, including: Wool, Sheep, Cattle, and Poultry production, Grain growing, the Warrabah National Park, Lake Keepit State Park, Split Rock Dam, nearby fresh-water Fishing and a Fish Hatchery, Bush Walking and the River Walk, Paragliding and Hang Gliding, Manilla Historical Museum and Royce Cottage, and the Annual Manilla Show. (From the info on the Town Clock.)

While the volunteers will be able to point you to any of the above attractions, and book appropriate accommodation, this is more of a museum than a takeaway shop.
