The sculpture is a twelve-foot representation of a car ferry carrying automobiles. Many lives in the Ludington area have been touched by the car ferry industry and the sculpture signifies one of the most recognizable sights in Ludington. The S.S. Badger, traveling across Lake Michigan to Wisconsin every summer, is the last of the Ludington ferries carrying automobiles. There are several descriptive and history plaques around the 2007 main display by Tuck Langland. There were 113 local donations given for this bronze display. (Wikipedia)
