Wolfram von Eschenbach was a German knight and poet, called a Minnesinger. He is regarded as one of the greatest epic poets of medieval German literature.

A statue of the poet is part of Berlin's Richard Wagner Monument.

Here, Eschenbach pays homage to the composer, holding a lyre in his hand.

Composer Richard Wagner used Eschenbach's most famous poem, Parzival as base for the libretto of his opera Parsifal. He also has Eschenbach appearing in another opera, Tannhäuser.
