From an information panel on site:
Zündapp KS 750
The German military used this motorcycle and side-car combination throughout the Second World War.
Sometimes called the Kriegselefant or "War Elephant", the KS-750 was first used for reconnaissance in North Africa in 1941. It quickly proved its effectiveness as a powerful and capable all terrain vehicle. This is one of the few surviving examples of the more than 18,000 "War Elephants" produced during the war.
