The station Schliersee is a terminus station in the market Schliersee on the railway line from Munich to Bayrischzell. It is in operation since August 1, 1869 and is operated by trains of the Bavarian Oberlandbahn every hour.

The Miesbacher coal company reached in 1861 the construction of a branch line from Holzkirchen, which had already received in 1857 through the Mangfalltalbahn a connection to Munich, via Darching and Thalham to Miesbach. The construction of the route was taken over by the coal company itself, their main interest was a facilitated removal of the then subsidized coal in Miesbach. In the following years, mining in the Hausham mine south of Miesbach became increasingly important, so that a 7.35-kilometer extension to Hausham and Schliersee was built. The additional section was opened in 1869.

At the station Schliersee from this time also the locomotive maintenance and train formation for the coal trains took place. In the 1890s, the station was extended, received in 1893 a two-story accommodation building for railway employees and a telegraph office, 1896 a locomotive shed (which was expanded in 1900 on four tracks) with a turntable and a 115 -meter-long loading ramp made of wood. Even after the extension of the route over Schliersee to Fischbachau, Osterhofen and Bayrischzell in 1911, the station remained a terminus station and became one of the rare Spitzkehrbahnhöfe in which the trains have to turn to continue. In 1913, the station area reached its largest extent and had nine tracks.
