On the road to Solomon’s Castle located near Ona, Florida is an oak tree grove that has been planted so that the word “Peace” can be read from above.

Just off of County Road 665 in Hardee County, Florida is Solomon Road which runs north and then east. It takes you to the famous Solomon’s Castle. While driving north on Solomon Road on the right just before the bend in the road one will see a grove of oak trees. At initial glance these trees don’t seem like anything special, and after making the turn in the road and driving east they just seem like a typical grove of oak trees. But hidden from view at ground level and only visible from above one realizes that the grove has a hidden message.
This grove consists of 1400 Live Oak trees and was planted by Howard Solomon's daughter Alane in 2009 when they were 6 foot saplings. She and her very patient husband Dean using a 50 foot and a 20 foot rope along with a fist full of marking flags paced out the pattern for the trees. According to Alane she planted the grove because it was the only way she could guarantee "Peace On Earth".
The grove is located about 45 minutes east of Bradenton, Florida and less than 30 minutes from Arcadia, Florida.
Solomon's Castle is a roadside attraction listed in Roadside America and is open for tours of the castle and grounds to view world famous Howard Solomon's art and sculptures. Alane operates a restaurant on the grounds called "The Boat in the Moat" and it is well worth a visit to enjoy the best dining available in the area. While dining ask her about the Peace on Earth grove.
