This former steeple is located in a pocket park where the sanctuary of the New Hope Lutheran Church stood. he sanctuary of this church burned in a fire back in 2009 and the steeple was set ablaze in 2014. The church offices, Sunday School rooms, and the signage survived the fire. The bell tower was removed from the sanctuary and placed on the ground as part of a small pocket park.

The bell itself was cast at the Jones Troy Bell Foundry in Troy, New York, in 1884. The inscription on the bell reads:
"Gave Fra Menigheden i Danmark.
1884
Heele * Ieg * Fik * For * Paa * Fremmede * Strane
At * Kalde * Til * Kirke * Den * Danske * Mand"

Workers on Thursday were busy removing the steeple at New Hope Lutheran Church, 401 N. Fourth St., which was devastated by fire Jan. 10. The investigation into the cause continues; the scene investigation began Tuesday after being delayed due to weather conditions. After the scene examination concluded, the Clinton Fire Department released a statement Thursday morning that for safety reasons, the east lane of North Fourth Street and a portion of Fourth Avenue North would remain closed until the steeple was removed. The Clinton Fire Department is being assisted in the investigation by the Clinton Police Department, the state Fire Marshal’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Anyone with information about the fire is encouraged to call the Clinton Fire Department at 242-0125 or Clinton County CrimeStoppers.
