From an information panel on site:
RG-31 Nyala Armoured Personnel Carrier
The Canadian government purchased the RG-31 Nyala in 2005 to counter the improvised explosive device (IED) threat to Canadian soldiers on vehicle patrol in Afghanistan.
Originally of South-African design, Canada's RG-31 fleet was procured from General Dynamics Land Systems Canada. The Nyala's armoured crew compartment's high ground clearance and V-shaped hull deflect the force of an IED blast, helping protect the soldiers within. The design was initially successful, and the Taliban later introduced larger and more devastating IED's to attack the Nyala and other mine resistant vehicle.
