Fox Armoured Car
The Canadian-built Fox served with Canadian and allied units during the Second World War.
More that 1,500 Foxes based on the British Humber armoured car, were built between 1941 and 1943 by General Motors Canada. Their armoured bodies were constructed by the Hamilton Bridge Company. When the Allies invaded Italy in 1943, the 1st Canadian Division used Foxes as scout vehicles. Often considered tall, heavy and awkward to manoeuvre, the Foxes were ultimately replaced by other vehicles, including the Staghound armoured car.
