This particular chimney is perhaps one of the most unusual I have seen .
The chimney stack is square and the engine house was some 25m down there is a tunnel pipe, a flue,connecting the two
The Tunnel and the chimney are both grade 2 listed
This site mined for tin and copper the position of the mine workings are on a sort of plateau away from the cliff edge.
To get sufficient draw on the chimney, to get sufficient heat from the fire feeding the boiler. the chimney was placed away from all the workings and up hill.
