"The church Sainte-Marie Madeleine is burned by lightning in 1615.
Destroyed by a fire on August 14, 1934, the church was rebuilt between 1935 and 1936, by Gustave Vandenbergue, under the name of St. Therese of the Child Jesus (only statue escaped the flames).
The church is in blond bricks of the Aa with a slate roof. On Sunday, March 24, 1968, the day of the election of the mayor, a fire broke out under the bell tower during Sunday Mass. The church is evacuated and part of the furniture.
In the afternoon, the vault collapses in a deafening crash, leaving the intact walls by chance. The gate contains an oak door with two doors. At the top of the entrance door, on the tympanum, a fresco carved in 1953, represents Notre Dame de Boulogne and the child Jesus in a boat. "

" L’église Sainte-Marie Madeleine est incendiée par la foudre en 1615.
Détruite par un incendie, le 14 août 1934, l’église fut reconstruite entre 1935 et 1936 , par Gustave Vandenbergue, sous le vocable de Ste Thérèse de l’Enfant Jésus (seule statue ayant échappée aux flammes).
L’église est en briques blondes de l’Aa avec un toit en ardoise. Le dimanche 24 mars 1968, jour de l’élection du maire, un feu se déclare sous le clocher pendant la messe dominicale. L’église est évacuée ainsi qu’une partie du mobilier.
Dans l’après-midi, la voûte s’écroule dans un fracas assourdissant, laissant par chance les murs intacts. Le portail renferme une porte en chêne à deux ouvrants. En haut de la porte d’entrée, sur le tympan, une fresque sculptée en 1953, représente Notre Dame de Boulogne et l’enfant Jésus dans une barque. "
