"Immanuel Lutheran Church has a rich history dating back April 21, 1862 when the first nine members signed to begin the church. In 1863 Immanuel Christian Day School began with 15 students in a rented house on Jefferson Street. You can read more of our history in A brief history of Immanuel through the present. When you visit, you will find a warm welcome, worship that is both traditional and alive, and a place to discover and employ your gifts for service. If you are a first time visitor please read our visitors page. We are a growing and evolving congregation with an excellent pre-school through elementary school. Washington, Missouri is a medium sized town with a feeling of a small time community - our church has a similar feeling. We welcome all people and we love and forgive all, as Christ would. Many of our members have shared what Immanuel has meant for them. Here is a video version recorded from just one of our members Julie & Steve video We hope our web site will help you find some of the information you may be looking for. Our pastor, members and staff are real people who love and care about you and your family. We invite you to call if you have any questions but please do come for a visit. We are inviting you." ~ Immanuel Lutheran Church, about
