The old "Volkschule" was the elementary and medium grade school in the former independent town of Ochshausen. In 1942 the villages of Ochshausen and Crumbach was merged to "Lohfelden" and a new school was build between the two towns, nowadays the "Regenbogenschule".
The building is used by local choirs, the German Red Cross and other local groups for social and cultural activities.
In the second floor, a chess museum is housed.
Owner of the building is the Community of Lohfelden.
The Building is brick build around 1915 as a school building and housed the school from then to 1942.
