"The first fortifications of Kostrzyn were a castle built in the 15th century.The modern fortifications were erected at the time when it was the capital of the New Marchia in the second half of the 16th century.The city was then surrounded by fortified bastions designed as Italians, who have partially survived to this day.The fortress was gradually enlarged with new elements over the following centuries.
In the 1880s, Kostrzyn became a fortress. A ring of four forts was built around the city:
The city of Kostrzyn, on the Oder, was seriously damaged in 1945 (95% of the buildings), as well as a large part of the old bastions. The preserved pieces are currently being restored.
At present, the area of the fortress is divided by the German-Polish border, the majority of the objects of the old fortress being located on the Polish side. Only the Gorgast fort in Germany is used for tourist purposes, like the Filip bastion, the Chyzanska Gate and the Berlin Gate (part of the fortified city) on the Polish side. "

" Les premières fortifications de Kostrzyn constituaient un château construit au XVe siècle. Les fortifications modernes ont été érigées à l'époque où elle était la capitale de la New Marchia dans la seconde moitié du XVIe siècle . La ville était alors entourée de bastions fortifiés conçus comme des italiens , qui ont partiellement survécu à ce jour. La forteresse a été progressivement élargie avec de nouveaux éléments au cours des siècles suivants.

Seul le fort de Gorgast situé en Allemagne est utilisé à des fins touristiques, à l' instar du bastion Filip , de la porte de Chyzanska et de la porte de Berlin (qui font partie de la ville fortifiée) du côté polonais. Nowoczesne fortyfikacje zostaly wzniesione w czasie, gdy byla stolica Nowej Marchii w drugiej polowie XVI wieku. jak Wlosi, którzy czesciowo przetrwali do dzis. Twierdza byla stopniowo powiekszana o nowe elementy w ciagu nastepnych stuleci.

Obecnie obszar twierdzy jest podzielony granica polsko-niemiecka, wiekszosc obiektów dawnej twierdzy znajduje sie po stronie polskiej. Tylko fort Gorgast w Niemczech jest wykorzystywany do celów turystycznych, takich jak bastion Filip, Brama Chyzanska i Brama Berlinska (czesc warownego miasta) po stronie polskiej. "
