The "Coffee Tavern" or "Lamb and Flag" was built in the 1870/80s as a"temperance tavern" (an alternative to the towns ale houses).
The "Lamb" hanging over the front door (I would suggest also had the Cornish flag at one stage).

The Lamb and Flag is used by Redruth Town Council as the emblem of the town.
The Lamb and Flag was a mark used by Cornish tin smelting works to stamp their ingots of tin.
