The Birdcage Confectionary has been operating since 1915 making it the oldest corner store in Victoria.

Built in 1915, the Birdcage Confectionary is a long established business in the James Bay neighbourhood. Built for Kleanthes & Orsa Metro; they operated the store for only two years. Since then seven different people have managed the store until 1980. After that, the records are sealed.
Today the store retains much of its original feel both inside and out. And while it is just outside Victoria's very active tourist zone, a walk to The Birdcages takes one back over a 100 years.
