He was born on July 3, 1833 in Hannoversch Munden, Germany and died on June 30, 1912 in Philadelphia, PA. His Medal of Honor information and citation is: STOCKMAN, GEORGE H.

• Place and date: At Vicksburg, Miss., 22 May 1863
• Entered service at: Chicago, Ill. Birth. Germany
• Date of issue: 9 July 1894
Citation: Gallantry in the charge of the "volunteer storming party."
