Davidson Hall was constructed in a Scots Jacobean Revival style in 1887 as the first building of the Gordon Technical College , commonly called "the Gordon". The foundation stone was laid on 20th June 1887 by the Hon. Francis Ormond MLC, a principal benefactor. The original building was subsequently extended in a sympathetic and appropriate manner in 1889, 1891 and 1916.
