Long Description:
He was born on June 9, 1842 in Newport, RI and died on October 11, 1918 in Goldendale, WA. He attained the rank of Brevet Brigadier General in the Union Army.
His Medal of Honor information and citation is: STEVENS, HAZARD
• Rank and organization: Captain and Assistant Adjutant General, U.S. Volunteers
• Place and Date: At Fort Huger, Va., 19 April 1863
• Entered service at: Olympia, Washington Territory
• Date of issue: 13 June 1894
Citation: Gallantly led a party that assaulted and captured the fort.
