Harold H. Dent
Constable Harold H. Dent spent all of his life and career in Eastern Ontario, serving as an Ontario Provincial Police Constable until he was murdered in the line of duty at the Navan train station on June 20, 1940.
On that morning, Constable Dent responded to a call about a "suspicious character" asking for directions to the Navan railway station. When approached by Constable Dent, the man produced a .45 Colt automatic and fired twice, striking Dent in the right arm and abdomen.
During his years of service with the OPP, Constable Dent received four commendations for efforts in 2 break, enter and thefts, a murder conspiracy and an armed robbery.

L’agent Harold H. Dent a passé tout sa vie et sa carrière en tant qu’agent de la Police provinciale de l’Ontario dans l’Est de l’Ontario, jusqu’a ce qu’il soit tué dans l’exercise de ses fonctions, le 20 juin 1940, à la gare de Navan.
Ce matin-là, l’agent Dent enquêtait sur une personne suspecte qui demandait comment se rendre à la gare de Navan. Lorsque l’agent Dent l’a interpellé, l’homme a sorti un pistolet automatique Colt .45 et a tiré deux fois, atteignant le policier au bras droit et à l’abdomen.
Au cours des ses années de service à la Police provinciale de l’Ontario, l’agent Dent a reçu quatre mentions élogieuses pour le travail qu’il a accompli dans le cadre de deux vols avec infraction, d’un complot de meurtre et d’un vol à main armée.
