Long Description:
Steve and Lynn Bernard had a dream, a dream to make the best kettle cooked potato chips in New England. They started with second hand equipment and rented trucks to haul the potatos from the Maine farms where they were grown when they opened for business in 1980. The original factory was an 800 square foot storefront on West Main St. in Hyannis MA.

By 1985 Cape Cod Potato Chips had developed a loyal following throughout New England. They also attracted the attention of the Eagle Snacks division of Anheuser-Busch who bought the company and began to distribute their products throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Things came to a screeching halt in 1996 when Anheuser-Busch disolved its snack food division. Capr Cod Potato Chips were without a home.

Founder Steve Bernard, together with a group of investors purchased Cape Cod Potato Chips from Anheuser-Busch and began production again. Over the next three years the popularity and distribution of the chips continued to grow at a tremendous rate.

In 1999 the Cape Cod Potato Chip Company was purchased by Lance, Inc., one of the largest distributers of snack food in the U.S. Using the network of distributors available through Lance distribution again increased rapidly to 21 states and Europe.

In 2005 Cape Cod Potato Chips celebrates the 25th anniversary of it's founding and continues to experience tremendous popularity and success.

The self guided factory tour starts at the front entrance of the factory and guides visitors along the entire path of a Maine potato from delivery from the farm to packaging and shipping to a store (hopefully) near you. The tour ends with free samples of current Cape Cod products and available for purchase.
