Ned Kelly Pistol - Glenrowan, Vic, Australia - Infamous Crime Scenes on Waymarking.com

A square wooden post painted with blue and white checkers beside a tree is where the pistol was found much more recently on 11th March 1997. It is beside a gravel footpath that runs from #2 marker "Police Shelter Position" towards the train line over a stone culvert 'bridge'.

I couldn't find any 'forensic proof' as to who the pistol belonged to, but there are plenty of interpretative signs around Glenrowan explaining what happened here over a hundred years ago.
