In front of the west-facing courthouse building on the large concrete patio stands this monument to Rogers County veterans. The monument is a precast concrete pillar about three foot square and eight feet high.
At the top of the pillar is a large metal bowl in which an eternal flame is kept lit. VFW Post 2976 erected this monument "For those veterans of Rogers County who gave their all." A bronze plaque shows the dedication, and two black granite plaques list the names of those who were killed in action during war beginning with the Korean War. The monument and flame was originally dedicated on 5/23/1971 and re-dedicated on 11/11/2016 when the current courthouse was erected.
