The four storey steam flour mill was built of local sandstone in 1857 when the Bellarine peninsular produced most of Victoria's grain, the mill was short-lived and closed in 1874. Later the mill was used in the brick making industry. Originally there were four stone workers cottages and a boiler house on site, but all are long gone
