De parochiekerk is gelegen in de kern van het kleine negentiende-eeuwse ontginningsdorp America en kenmerkt zich door een traditionalistische, sterk op de neoromaanse stijl geënte bouwtrant
In 1946 is de kerk na oorlogsschade gerestaureerd. Hierbij is het verwoeste traptorentje rechts tegen de voorgevel niet meer hersteld en is de ingangspartij enigszins versoberd. De sporen van deze wederopbouw zijn in het metselwerk zichtbaar.

The parish church is located in the heart of the small nineteenth-century mining village of America and is characterized by a traditionalist building style strongly based on the Neo-Romanesque style
The church was restored in 1946 after war damage. The ruined stair tower on the right against the front wall was no longer restored and the entrance area was somewhat reduced. The traces of this reconstruction are visible in the brickwork.
