The plaque reads:

In Memory of Mr. Broder

In 1942, after being evacuated from our family farm in Mission, British Columbia during WWII; we arrived in Lethbridge Alberta during an era where the Japanese people were treated with mistrust and suspicion. Opportunities were not given to our people at the time. Mr. Broder was a shining example of humanity. He took us in and provided food, shelter and hope for the future. He hired as many Japanese he could to work at the cannery. Thanks to his generosity, our family persevered and prospered.

His kindness to our people during those dark days will never be forgotten.
