The bench is situated on the tow path of the Trent and Mersey canal near Lock 30 - Lime Kiln Lock in Stone.

The wooden bench is has a slatted back and seat with arm rests.

The plaque situated on the back of the bench is inscribed as follows:-
'In Loving Memory of
Philip Hall
Born 17-01-49 Died 13-12-05
A lovely Man'

"The Trent and Mersey canal (T & M) was built to link the River Trent at Derwent Mouth (in Derbyshire) to the River Mersey. The second connection is made via the Bridgewater Canal, which it joins at Preston Brook in Cheshire. The 94 mile long canal was built by engineer James Brindley and opened in 1777." (visit link)
