The final preparations are underway for the biggest game of the year.

The Super Bowl will be played in Atlanta, but the wind farm Thunder Ranch Wind Project, just north of Oklahoma City, is helping power the matchup between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams.

"Last year, we generated more than one terawatt per hour of electricity," site supervisor Austin Jones said. "That's enough to power 100,000 average U.S. households for an entire year."

A lot of that power is coming from the wind.

"There's energy within it, and we're just harnessing it," Jones said.

This year, Thunder Ranch Wind Project partnered with Budweiser's parent company, Anheuser Busch, to help power the Super Bowl. The farm will generate wind energy and renewable energy credits that Anheuser Busch will buy, giving them to the Atlanta Super Bowl Committee to offset all the power used this week.

Budweiser also will feature wind energy in its Super Bowl commercial.

Jones said he's glad to see wind energy growing in Oklahoma.

"I'm from Enid, Oklahoma. Now, there's probably five or six wind farms within an hour of my hometown," he said.

As long as the wind keeps blowing, those wind farms are sure to be there.
