With Coastal erosion the original coastal path was getting very close to the edge of the cliff. A wooden walkway has been constructed to allow visitors to walk along the edge in relative safety

Coastal erosion of any designated footpath needs to be considered by the landowners.
With the heavy footfall in this area from the many surfers, the sun bathers, visitor's and the Hikers walking the South West Coastal Path.
Damage/wear of the footpath is inevitable. The land managers "The National Trust UK" aim is to preserve this beauty spot. So to preserve and safeguard the coastline, they recently constructed this walkway along the most venerable sections of foot path.
