Beside the New England Highway are two 'Themed Homemade Mailboxes' side-by-side, each built as a horse float.

I would think that each of these mailboxes was made by the same person, to the same pattern; except that the one that is rather rusty has a larger slot for the mail to be inserted in. They are made off 3mm thick sheet metal (steel), with a curved piece for the sides and front, and flat for the back flap (door) and the top and bottom of the trailer. There are shaped pieces on either side for the wheel arches, with circular pieces of steel added for the dual set of wheels, and steel rod set in an acute triangle for the draw-bar. Each is fixed to a square steel post.

While the one that is painted light blue has the address number (which agrees with my GPSr Address listing) in reflective 'lettering' of '1190', the brown rusty has '#49' on it, which does not 'make sense', unless it is for a much earlier address numbering system.
