The Baytown Nature Center is a 450-acre site on two peninsulas surrounded by three bays. More than 300 species of birds depend on this area for migration, feeding or nesting.

Nature CenterBaytown Nature Center is open daily all year round except Christmas, Thanksgiving and during extreme inclement weather. Gates open 30 minutes before sunrise and close 30 minutes after sunset.
There is an entrance fee of $4 for adults 13 and older. Children 5-12 and Seniors are $1.
Education Programs
The Baytown Nature Center is used for both educational and recreational purposes. The Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Education and Recreation Center utilizes the nature center as an outdoor classroom for its “Wetlands Ecology” and “Liquid Science” programs for all 5th and 7th grade students in Goose Creek Consolidated School District. BNC is also the site of the award-winning program, “Back to the Bay,” for high school biology students.
On the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 – noon the Nurture Nature Series brings a different topic to the public for education and enjoyment. The programs are free with regular admission to the nature center. Each year the nature center hosts the Nurture Nature Festival on the first Saturday of November. This all-day event is also free to the public.
