The bridge is a Historic England Grade II Listed Building.
"Probably late C18. Ashlar and of 3 spans with segmental arches, the central higher than others. Moulded stringcourse on both sides." link

The road connects the village of Tixall with the river Sow. It is a minor road and at the point it crosses the bridge it becomes single lane.
