The time capsule is buried in the wall of the Combined Court Centre on Bethesda Street in Hanley.

The capsule was placed by The City Museum and Art Gallery on 26th July 1990. The plaque is located in the wall below the public entrance to the Law Court buildings on Bethesda Street. The plaque reads as follows;

A TIME CAPSULE CONTAINING OBJECTS
FROM OUR AGE WAS BURIED HERE
JULY 26 1990
THE CITY MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY

The plaque does not indicate when the capsule should be opened.
