The headquarters of the Ministry consists of five main buildings. Three are located in the district of Bercy, designed by Paul Chemetov and Borja Huidobro.
"Colbert", whose southwestern end has its foundations in the bed of the Seine, is located on the northwest side of the beginning of boulevard de Bercy, the latter being established at the north-eastern outlet of Pont de Bercy .
"Vauban" is located northwest of Colbert, separated from it by the Jean-Monnet alley.
"Necker" is north of "Colbert", connected to it by a body of building spanning the rue de Bercy.
The other two buildings, located a little further north-west, beyond Villiot Street and therefore in the Quinze-Vingts district, are designed by Louis Arretche and Roman Karasinski. They are established on the north-east side of the rue de Bercy and more precisely the alley of Bercy which runs along it. These two buildings (as well as "Necker") adjoin themselves the footprints of the Gare de Lyon, located further north-east.

Prior to this date, the central services of the Ministry were scattered over several sites, most of them being with the Minister at the Louvre Palace, in the Richelieu wing (since May 1871), and had to move to Bercy in view of the work of the "Grand Louvre" decided under the presidency of François Mitterrand. « Necker » est au nord de « Colbert », relié à celui-ci par un corps de bâtiment enjambant la rue de Bercy.
Les deux autres bâtiments, situés un peu plus au nord-ouest, au-delà de la rue Villiot et donc dans le quartier des Quinze-Vingts, sont conçus par Louis Arretche et Roman Karasinski. Ils sont établis sur le côté nord-est de la rue de Bercy et plus précisément l'allée de Bercy qui longe celle-ci. Ces deux bâtiments (ainsi que « Necker ») jouxtent eux-mêmes les emprises de la gare de Lyon, situées encore plus au nord-est.

Avant cette date, les services centraux du ministère sont dispersés sur plusieurs sites, la plupart se trouvant avec le ministre au Palais du Louvre, dans l'aile Richelieu (depuis mai 1871), et durent déménager à Bercy dans l'optique des travaux du « Grand Louvre » décidés sous la présidence de François Mitterrand. "
