This U.S. Geological Survey Benchmark Disk is mounted on a 4" pipe, embedded in concrete, just southwest of the Public Safety Building in Blackwell, Oklahoma. The building is on the northwest corner of Blackwell Avenue and 2nd Street. It appears that the mark was once painted over, then cleaned. It is worn and scratched but all markings are still legible, including the DATUM 1020 stamp.
The coordinates of this waymark differ considerably from those listed in the GH0231 data sheet, which put the mark about a block to the east.
