This flag was first raised in 1975. The Ontario Provincial government recognizes it as the official emblem of the French-speaking community in Ontario.
The flag consists of two parts. The left is green with a white lily (fleur de lys), symbolic of 'La Francophonie'. The white part with a green trillium is the floral emblem of Ontario.
The Casselman area is one of the most French-speaking communities in Ontario (as of 2006), with over 83% of households speaking French.
