This pedestrian tunnel is a very unique memorial to two young Weatherford students.

This pedestrian tunnel crosses N. Broadway east-west at the site of the Weatherford schools.
On the west side of the street, a bronze plaque is mounted on the concrete wall of the tunnel. It is in memory to two high school seniors who tragically died in an automobile accident on May 7, 1955. Roland Hamburger (6/20/37 - 5/7/55) was an awarded FFA member, and Cecil Short (4/14/38 - 5/7/55) was an honored athlete.
