The bulldog is the mascot for Southwestern Oklahoma State University. This bronze sculpture of "Duke", the SWOSU bulldog is located in Centennial Plaza, south of the two-story clock tower.
Duke was erected in 2010 and stands on top of a two-tiered concrete base, within a raised circular flower garden. If you've ever owned a bulldog, you've gotta love that tough, defiant look. I wouldn't want to face that face on the line of scrimmage.
A bronze plaque on the sculpture's base reads:
