A native of San Jose and two time Olympian, Chow was a member of the first US team to win an Olympic gold medal in gymnastics. Having first competed for the United States in 1992, she achieved international fame as a member of what was known as the Magnificent 8 - the US women's championship team at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. She also was an individual silver medal on the uneven bars. Four years later she returned to the Olympics in Sydney. A gymnast of uncommon perseverance and skill, Chow was inducted into the San Jose sports hall of Fame in 2004.
