In the entrance area of the Norderstedt town hall hangs a wrought-iron work reminiscent of the reunification of Germany. The work shows all 16 coats of arms of the German federal states and the date 3 October 1990. It was made by the Norderstedt blacksmith Alfred Schmidt.
