I am not sure how many Historical Markers are in the series around Nimmitabel, but the one near the War Memorial, for 'the Cenotaph' is listed as #5. It is next to the turnstile into the Memorial Park, near the 'Rising Sun' gates, and reads:
The Cenotaph #5
"Men and women who went to war from this area are remembered at this memorial.
"Many men joined in the Snowy River march which passed through this town in 1916.
"The march started from Delegate and ended in Goulburn.
"They were recruitments for the First World War.
"One of the men, E.A. Corey joined the march at Nimmitabel.
"Corey was the only man in the British Commonwealth to have been awarded the Military Medal on four occasions.
"There are names of those who served in the First and Second World Wars, the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
"Services are held every ANZAC day in appreciation and memory to all those who served our country."
