Kilgore College Website"The East Texas Oil Museum at Kilgore College hosted a ribbon cutting Jan. 30 to unveil its new exhibit featuring a 1929 Mack Truck used to haul ice.
Donated by Mike and Amy Clements, the vintage truck is encased adjacent to the museum in a weather-proof outdoor shelter built by KK Mobbs Builders.
"The truck is the same kind that would have been used to deliver ice for area residents' iceboxes at the time of the East Texas discovery in the 1930s," said Merlyn Holmes, ETOM director.
Mike Clements, who owns Energy Weldfab in White Oak, discovered the truck located in upstate New York and said he knew it would fit in perfectly as an exhibit at the ETOM."
