"KSIJ's studio would be home base for them (Elvis and bandmates Scotty Moore and Bill Black) as they toured East Texas. Elvis would stretch out on the floor of the studio and read comic books.

KSIJ's DJ Tom Perryman, booked them to play at Gladewater's Mint Club (that was on S. Tyler Road near the Sabine River) in 1954."
