This simple memorial to the first American sailor killed in World War I, Gunner's Mate First Class Petty Officer Osmond Kelly Ingram, U.S. Navy, stands at the north east corner of Kelly Ingram Park in downtown Birmingham.
There are two plaques on this boulder, one in frint and one in back. The front plaque reads as follows:
