* En 1735, destruction de 2 tours puis consolidation du rempart.
* En 1744, construction de nombreuses dépendances.
* En 1746, aménagement d'une cuisine, d'un garde-manger, d'un lavoir.
* En 1792, les révolutionnaires confisquent le château appartenant à Polycarpe de La Rochefoucauld.
* En l'an III (1795), Philippe Auguste Levallois, ancien serviteur de la famile, achète le château.
* En 1832, le château appartient à Pierre François Charles Durand, Baron de Couppé.
* En 1834, le Baron cède à la municipalité : L'église, les douves et la promenade.
* En 1857, Marie Anne François Boutet de La Touche, veuve du Baron, vend l'ensemble des biens à la municipalité.
* En cette deuxième partie du 19ème siècle, la municipalité aménage une mairie, un palais de justice et un jardin à l'intérieur des remparts.
* En cette fin de 19ème siècle, des aménagements sont réalisés et quelques bâtiments sont détruits.
* Au 20ème siècle, le château est transformé en bibliothèque municipale.
* Au 21ème siècle, la découverte de l'extérieur est libre et gratuite. La visite de l'intérieur (jardin) est possible. Par contre, l'intérieur des bâtiments n'est pas ouvert au public.
